We are Japanese band called "FU" (pronounced [efju:]).

FU means
From Unconsciousness,
For U,
From U,
From Us,
From the Universe,
For the Universe, etc.

It mainly derives from the fact that
most of our music comes "From Unconsciousness",
in other words, dream or daydream of UBI QUITOUS.
Unconsciousness is beyond any boundaries,
and we can be together there.

Our songs are made up of English, Japanese, and what we call "Cosmic Language"!

Biography

FU (pronounced [efju:]) formed in Japan in September 2002,
consists of
UBI QUITOUS (vocals, guitars),
TEKERE TWO (bass),
CHANG (keyboards),
T*K (drums).

The band began to organize events called "IZIGEN ONGAKU FESTIVAL" from August 2004.

In June 2005, FU attended "The 2005 World Exposition" in Aichi, Japan (EXPO 2005),
and offered two songs for the robot performance of MIRAIKIKAI Inc.
Also the band organized events called "AI UCHU HAKU" in July and August, derived from the EXPO.

FU released their 1st album "LOVE DIVINE" in August 2006,
distributed to the most major CD/record stores throughout Japan.
Now it is sold at amazon, iTunes store, and cdbaby.com.

The band played their first headliner show in October.

In March 2007, FU embarked on Hanshin tour(around Osaka and Kobe) in Japan.

"IZIGEN MUSIC", FU's own independent record label was founded in January 2008.

The band spent recording and mixing for more than one year and finally released 2nd album "LOVE CHILDREN" through IZIGEN MUSIC in December.

From the end of September to October in 2009, FU recorded their 3rd album
with legendary producer Malcolm Burn,
a Grammy-award winning musician and producer,
who has worked with legendary musicians such as
Daniel Lanois, Peter Gabriel, Iggy Pop, Emmylou Harris,
Bob Dylan, The Neville Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Robbie Robertson,
Tracy Chapman,Dave Mathews, Kaki King, Rachel Yamagata, Sarah McLachlan,
Gillian Welch, Ryan Adams, Chris Whitley, Patti Smith, John Mellencamp,
String Cheese Incident, and many others.
FU is the first band that Malcolm Burn produces in the sphere of Japan and Asia.

Matered by Greg Calbi, who is known for works with John Lennon, Bob Dylan,
Lenny Kravitz, Norah Jones and so many more.

From April 2010, FU hosts a monthly, 30 minutes internet radio show
"FU's IZIGEN ONGAKU TANKENTAI" at TOKYO NET RADIO.

At the end of May, a new single called "Millions, Billions, Trillions" has released from the upcoming album.
The new album "LOVE I LOVE" will be released on July 28, 2010.
